I'm listing a half-dozen collector-quality wireless era antiques, including an excellent, working 1922 RCA/Westinghouse Vocarola horn loudspeaker; a 1925 Grebe MU-1 Synchrophase radio (a gorgeous set, and it works); a near mint, working 1922 RCA/Westinghouse Aeriola Sr. radio with a good brass base, tipped WD-11 Radiotron tube (in all my years of collecting early radios, I've never seen an Aeriola Sr. that was as nice as this one; it's 100% original and it looks brand new); a 1923 RCA/Westinghouse Type FH horn speaker (the FH was RCA's first full-size speaker; it's not often seen, and this one's in fantastic working condition); and (last but certainly not least) one of the cleanest Atwater Kent 4620 breadboard radios left on planet Earth (the 4620 was the first version of the Model 12, and fewer than 1600 were produced -- it's AK's scarcest TRF breadboard). Here's a 1924 RCA Radiola III regenerative receiver and its matching RCA Balanced Amplifier. Both components are tested and working, and the outfit includes two complete sets of tubes -- a set of clear WD-11 tubes for display (they have open filaments) and a set of good long pin 99 tubes for use when playing the radio and amp. Also included are a set of 4 adapters so that any 99 tubes can be used with the radio and amp should the tubes that are included with them ever wear out. The adapters alone are almost worth their weight in gold. They're the flat wafer-type adapters that add virtually no height to the 99 tubes, making the 99's virtually indistinguishable from WD-11 tubes when they're seated in the tube sockets. And you'll want to use 99 tubes with this combo, trust me, because if you accidentally short out a set of four WD-11 tubes with good emissions, you're talking about a $300 - $400 problem, whereas if you accidentally short out a set of four 99 tubes with good emissions, you're talking about a $40 - $50 problem. Also included with the set is a vintage cable to connect the output of the radio to the input of the amplifier and a professional reproduction of the original owner's manual. The condition of both components is excellent throughout. Cabinet finish on both the radio and amp is original and beautiful, with very little wear evident and no damage. Decals are original and close to perfect. Panels are excellent, with no cracks, gouges or other damage. Pointer on the radio is beautifully plated, with virtually no oxidation present. Normal lettering wear on both components, but lettering is better than 85% and still quite legible. Radio has its original metal tags on the wiring harness; amp has a shorter wiring harness with cloth tags indicating the voltages associated with the respective leads. Transformer in the radio is good, and the radio has sufficient volume on its own to power a sensitive 1920's horn loudspeaker. Both transformers in the Balanced Amplifier are good, and when the amp is paired with the radio, the two have sufficient output to power pretty much any horn speaker to very loud levels. As you can see, the radio and amp were once "joined at the hip" with a pair of bolts, and though they're separate now, I'll include two bolts and nuts if you wish to marry them again.As noted above, the radio and amp still work.
