The Superior Paragon King George VI Coronation Plate With over 3000 positive feedbacks you know you can trust us. This 9" version of this plate was made in two qualities,the standard version that had a flat border/rim and normal gilding, and a superior version with the relief acanthus leaf moulded border with more lavish gilding. This very high quality and collectable china plate must rate as the most spectacular and colorful of the commemoratives produced for this Coronation or any other.The plate was made in 1937 to celebrate the Coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth (The Queen Mother). This stunning plate has been extensively hand decorated and has a lavishly gilded and moulded rim, as can be seen in our second picture,inset with the inscription, "King George VI and Queen Elizabeth". As these plates were hand decorated no two plates are identical,the decorators mark E is on the back. The central decoration shows the Royal Coat-of-Arms for King George VI, supported by the heraldic figures of the Lion and unicorn and surmounted by the Imperial State Crown.
