WELCOME TO MY NIPPON AUCTION. I will be listing beautiful items today - all from the Nippon era of Japanese porcelain manufacture. I really admire the Japanese manufacturers of this era. They "borrowed" heavily from many of the top European molds - especially R.S. Prussia & Limoges companies, taking the best of European molds and putting their own Japanese ideas and painting styles on them. Please see all my auctions for beautiful and innovative Nippon era porcelain! First of all, my pictures did absolutely NO justice to this Vase - this is one beautiful Vase. This superb piece is intricately designed every which way you look. The upper part of the vase has a very captivating design using soft green and magenta accenting with gold detail work all around. T is latice work, raised moriage beading and dark green to border this section. The center part is pristine and beautiful - and very high quality - white porcelain that has Nippon Chrysantemums all around the vase with delicate purple Daisies and tiny blue Forget Me Nots. Interconnecting the flowers is my favorite - raised paste scroll work (how I LOVE that effect!). The bottom base is another variation of the top part with plenty of gold work and it's all done on a very ornate and footed base. What a spectacular beauty this is! It gleams with the richness of gold and the porcelain glistens with quality. The pattern of the flowers, the gold, the designs and the coloring are all quintessential Nippon era decorating. The Vase stands an impressive 12" tall and has a base diameter of 6". It is a heavy and substantial piece.. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks. T is a slight rub on one area - not a distraction at all. The painting, the gold, the intricate design work is first rate and high end. Unmarked . 1891-1921.
