Vintage 8-track player/recorder from Superscope, the same people who made Marantz equipment back in the 70's. I don't have any 8-ttack tapes to play so I don't know it the unit actually works or not so I am selling as-is, for parts or repair. I do know that the two VU meters light up but the needles stay far to the right. I don't believe this is normal, since no input is present. The channel track change mechanism seems to be fine, as the solenoid kicks in with the familiar "clink-clunck" when you press the "Selector" button. Belts appear to be fine. Other than that I can't tell much aout it's condition, other than cosmetically it's almost perfect, with only a few tiny chips int he real wood cabinet and all original knobs and switches. Once restored it would be a beautiful and unique addition to one's vintage audio collection.Local pickup accepted. Columbia, SC is right in the middle of the state.
