DESCRIPTION
We are proud to present for auction a Svend Bang Root Briar unique shaped Estate pipe.
Please take a look at the photos. The grain on this pipe is absolutely beautiful.
Marked S. BANG, KOBENHAVN, HANDMADE IN DENMARK, and carries the no. 810.
The end of the shank is Mammoth Ivory and the same material is used on the mouth piece
w it meets the shank end.
The shank has the oval shape with edges on both sides and making the end piece of the
shank as the shape of an âeoeeyeâeoe. T is the disc shaped ebonite support as the part of the
mouth piece and giving the unique black stripe in between the mammoth ivory pieces.
S. Bang needs no description. S. Bang is the brand of the duo pipe maker, Ulf Noltensmeier
and Per Hansen. As matter of fact t was Mr. Svend Bang who used to be the amateur
pipe maker and owner of the business. But he retired in âe(tm)84 and then on, Ulf and Per took over
the complete charge of business, and decided to make the very best of the pipes in the world.
The S. Bang pipes were so good. But it has gotten better aft âe(tm)84.
The production year of the pipe assumed as in the mid âe~80s which means as this one is very
special. It is the pipe made right after they took over the business and having their mind
concentrated for the challenge to make the very best pipe in the world. In the mid âe~90s, S. Bang
pipes are not easy to find in the U.S. and even you could find, those were very expensive.
Higher than $1,000 was normal.
This pipe comes with the original black leather pouch with the non original box and the original
price tag which shows the former original owner paid about $1,200 for it. ( 120,000 in Japanese

All pipes have been professionally sanitized and restored at the Tsuge Pipe Company
workshop in Tokyo, Japan. These pipes were carefully cared for, restored to "like new"
condition, and are ready to smoke.

We will ship worldwide but the exception of China and African countries.
Given the rarity and the prices involved, our first choice shipping is via courier services
such as UPS, FEDEX, or DHL to guarantee safe delivery. If you have your own account
with one of these carriers, please let us know.
We also accept shipping by the EMS Air Parcel Post which is away cheaper than the
courier services.
The Japanese Mail has been switched to government owned to public and now their
insurance became unlimited. In another words, they accept higher than US$200 in value.
Tfore EMS shipping is acceptable. However due to the way the package is handled,
we prefer to ship by courier for some countries and regions.
One last thing to tell regarding to the Shipping is that we will add the Handling Charge
from now on, and that is $5.00 per package.
Any duties and fees charged by your home country are the Buyer's responsibility.

Shipping costs vary with destination. For example, shipping by EMS to the U.S.A. is
roughly US$30, to Russia roughly US$32. Insurance is US$0.70 per US$200.
