SW Art Print Pawnee Bill's Montage by BRUMMETT ECHOHAWK Description THIS LISTING IS FOR A 1994 ART PRINT OF PAWNEE BILL'S IN PAWNEE OKLAHOMA AND IT IS TITLED PAWNEE BILL'S MONTAGE by artist BRUMMETT ECHOHAWK, 1922-2006 iF you were to visit Pawnee Oklahoma today, you will still see the Buffalo grazing in the pasture at Pawnee Bill's original home which is a historical museum to tour. Pawnee Bill (his real name was Gordon Lilly) toured the world with his Wild West Show and even teamed up with Buffalo Bill for several years. Today you will find in Pawnee the same stage coach, Pawnee Bill Memorabillia & artifacts that are in this photo all on display at his home. Fascinating place to visit! The size with margins is 28" x 20 and the actual print is 16" x 24. This beautiful print is ready for framing and will make a wonderful addition to your collection. For those that are not familiar with the name Brummett Echohawk, or for those that knew some history of this wonderful artist, please read below for more information about his life that was written by a biographer that spent time with him. 1922 - 2006 Brummett was a deeply spiritual man. Rich in his knowledge of the ways of the Great Spirit, the language of animals, birds and trees; he nevertheless always had his Bible close to hand and quoted from it freely. I believe he knew it by heart. When I stayed with him at his home in Tulsa, with his wife Mary, he showed me so many things-- how to get strength from a tree, how to call an eagle or a buffalo, how to place red and blue dots of paint in close proximity so as to make a painting appear to move and be alive. He made wonderful little gifts-- a pouch filled with evergreen and blue and red feathers, a morning star worked in beads, a bear's paw necklace, a string of red and blue beads. "Blue for truth, red for courage" he would tell me. His name for me was Chupi-tit Wahruxti-- Morning Star. he had a deep knowledge of he subtle workings of the universe and the galaxies, the power in stars and fire, light and sound, and the sky and the earth. He understood the deep sanctity of water, and enjoined me to drink water first thing in the morning, and to look at the morning star. "Then nothing much bad can happen to you."He said that when two people had good, strong feelings for one another, then they had one heart. That one would always know when the other needed help, and that good thoughts and prayers heal. When he passed, I saw him in a dream. He asked me to light a good strong fire and burn some evergreen. This was done, along with a certain prayer and an offering. I am often aware of his subtle presence. His generosity, his talent and his great heart and spirit fly freely these days; for those who remember him with love ,he is closer than a breath away. BRUMMETT ECHOHAWKPawnee, Kit-Kahaki (warrior band) 45th Infantry Division, 179th Infantry, Company C, Combat Infantry Badge, Bronze Star, Purple Heart (3), Battle Stars (4). Born, Pawnee Oklahoma, attended Chilocco, Indian Academy. Brummett and William Lasley, a Potawatomie, led successful charge at Anzio Beach to "take" the "Factory" which insured that the allied toe-hold at Anzio Beach was secure. Lasley was killed in the first assault. Brummett became a well known artist, with paintings in galleries around the world. Brummett Echohawk passed away February 13, 2006. Born March 3, 1922, Echohawk was a full-blooded Pawnee Indian.During the course of his life he was a painter, writer, illustrator,actor, cover artist, Pawnee historian, and a veteran of World War 2.For this list he was a comic strip creator."Little Chief" ran in The Tulsa (Okla.)
