STEINER’S RESORT on SPIDER LAKE WOODRUFF WI 1934 photo postcard of Women out in boat. On front of the boat is a Swastika which I am told was originally a native American symbol for good luck and peace back in the early 1900s. Though I can’t help but notice the resort has a “German name” so not so sure on the intention of the swastika on the boat at that time, and at a German Resort in the mid 1930s.The postcard was written out to a man in a CCC camp. The return address is from the Woodruff resort. The women writing it sounds like she was working there, or in the area. You can read the card if you zoom in on the photo. I am guessing Steiner’s Resort is no longer on Spider Lake but I’m wondering if someone local knows of it? Or knows how long it was there. This is certainly an interesting conversation piece and I’m guessing someone in that area may want it just for that reason. This card has definite wear , scratches, corners rounded, staining on back, some creasing, especially top left corner. Lines in the picture etc. See photos. Thanks~
