Vintage Swedish Art Deco Intarsia Smoking Table and Bar O R I G I N - Sweden A G E - c. 1920's I T E M C O N D I T I O N - Very good to excellent. Restored. D I M E N S I O N S - 23 3/4 w x 23 3/4 d x 23 h in. D E S C R I P T I O N - Though no longer politically correc, this handsome table cabinet was originally referred to as a "smoking table," this unique Swedish Deco cabinet on casters also secrets a mini bar. Crafted in native Swedish dark flame birch, the intarsia, or inlaid, top is of golden flame birch with a myriad of exotic hardwoods. The top has a removeable glass top (see photographs) that has thankfully protected the top from those long Roaring 20's evenings with cigars and brandy snifters. Today this piece makes a gorgeous end table or night table. Oh, and also a secret bar! That use never seems to go out of fashion ....
