I bought this wonderful little Swedish Christmas tree candle holder at Crate & Barrel nearly 30 years ago! It is made of very thin wood, and painted with a green wash of paint so that you can still see some of the wood grain. It is not varnished, so it has that nice, natural look. It comes flat, in 3 pieces, as you can see in the 2nd photo. The two tree pieces have slits that fit into each other to make it 3-D, and it is held together at the top with one of the little red wood candle cups that also has slits and fits down on the top. When assembled the tree measures about 12-1/2" high, to the top of the candle cup, and it is about 8-1/4" wide at the widest point. Each tree branch holds a red candle cup as well, and they are very well made, sturdy, and are lined with brass. They hold little candles - the inside diameter of each cup is just under 1/2". I used this for many years, and it is still in EXCELLENT condition. The only thing that you might find a slight bit of darkening w the paraffin dripped onto the green. Also, t is one tiny chip on one tree point, w I have touched it up with matching paint, so you don't really notice it. This looks great on an end table, or in the center of a coffee table, or even a kitchen table, especially when the candles are lit.
