Rare!~'SWEET NOTES'~McCoy COOKIE JAR~Singing CHOIR BOYS is a RARE and WONDERFUL vintage COOKIE JAR attributed to McCOY Pottery .. a heavy Ceramic Jar featuring 2 CHOIR BOYS singing from Sheet Music or a Hymnal .. called "SWEET NOTES" with the name hand painted on front in black glaze .. multicolor cold painted and fired-on glaze decoration plus metallic Gold Trim on book edges .. the cold paint is only on faces and hands of boys .. probably dates circa 1950s .. a HARD TO FIND Jar but the 2nd one I've found this year (Go Figure) .. see 11 photos below also. VERY GOOD vintage condition with worn cold paint as is usual with this jar - no post production pottery chips to base or lid (t is a small Factory production concussion nick on side of flange edge under lid that fits into base - done in the making and glazed over - very minor and totally no-show with lid in place) - no stress cracks - no rim cracks - some typical and expected glaze crazing from age .. could use a good cleaning but I'll leave that to the winning bidder so as not to disturb remaining cold paint .. measures about 11" high and 7 1/2" x 5 1/2" at base .. unmarked as to maker, as always .. guaranteed Old, Original and as described .. offered 'As Is' with NO RESERVE! +++ Extra care will be taken in packing which is reflected in shipping cost.
