Hi and welcome! In this auction, I am offering a sweet little Americana decoration which has been hand made by me! This little quilt pocket can be hung anyw you need a bit of Americana spirit....on a cupboard door, the peg of a wood shelf or on your covered front door! I made the pocket out of a tattered red and white quilt. The pocket measures about 7" by 6-1/2" and is backed with a star muslin print fabric. I have stitched a piece of grungy jute twine to the top for hanging. The quilt pocket was sponged with a coffee/vanilla mixture and has dried to a wonderful primitive, but not grungy appearance. The pocket is filled with natural straw excelsior in which I have tucked two hand painted firecrackers, a small quilt star and sprigs of Sweet Annie. The firecrackers are hand painted pieces of birch branches. They were so much fun to make......I painted the tops blue, with stenciled white stars and red stripes on the bottom part. They each have a "fuse" made out of a piece of jute twine. When the paint dried on the firecrackers, I gave them a thorough sanding and stained them with antiquing medium. I have taken a separate picture so you can see the details up close. They measure about 6" and 5" long. The star is made out of a piece of vintage quilt and measures about 4" by 4". It is stuffed very firmly and secured to a real twig. The star has also been sponged with the coffee/vanilla mixture. These items can easily be removed if you wish to place your own prims inside of the quilt pocket! I have pinned a rusty star and bell to the front of the pocket with a rusty safety pin. I tied a large prim "July 4th" tag to the front also. Please email me with any questions. Paypal is the preferred method of payment and I accept credit and debit cards.
