Hello and welcome......this listing is for a very sweet primitive star door greeter which I have made out of an old vintage quilt. This door greeter would look wonderful hanging on a cupboard door or the bedpost of an old bed. Eventhough it has a holiday postcard tucked inside of the pocket...it could easily be displayed all year round. The star is made out of an old vintage quilt with some wonderful homespun fabrics. It is backed with a star print muslin and has been stuffed very firmly. The star measures about 11" across. The hanger, for the star, is made out of a piece of crocheted vintage lace and was stitched into the seams of the star. I have hand stitched a "pocket" to the front of the star which is an old vintage handkerchief. It has raised stitching on the front in the shape of a bow and small flowers. When all of the sewing was completed on the star, I sponged it with a coffee/vanilla mixture and it has dried to a perfectly prim appearance. I tucked a vintage holiday postcard inside of the pocket together with sprigs of Sweet Annie and stems of faux cranberry colored berries. The postcard has a small table, chair and mirror on the front with a small tree in the center of the table and is detailed with glitter. T is a handwritten message on the back of the card which has its original two cent stamp still affixed. I have pinned a large grungy tag to the front of the pocket together with a large rusty bell and key. I have stamped the words "HOLIDAY WISHES" on the tag. Please email me with any questions.
