This bike is unique due to its ability for the rear portion of the bike to " swing " or articulate. When you ride you can keep the steering wheel strait and use your behind to steer. Cool Huh! The tricks and possibilities are endless!

You can do tricks like ride real tight figure 8's, ride with one tire in the gutter and 1 tire on the curb, but if you are in a tight spot and need to get somew fast you just lock in the back so it does not swing and you can ride it like a regular bike!

In 2003 250 swingbike brand bikes were made. These were built by the son of the original SWINGBIKE inventor! I would not consider these reproductions but the newest model of the swingbike.

The 2003 SWINGBIKES are supposedly rarer than then the original 1970's since they made only 250. All of the 2003's were powder coated dark blue. Both the 70's and 2003 bikes were both made in TAIWAN. The new 2003 bikes are almost identical to the 1970's bikes except w they strengthened the bikes. Such differences are the aluminum stem, and the rear triangle. These modifications were made because the original bikes would tend to bend and crack under hard use and if taken off jumps alot. This bike was made to enjoy!!!

It does not matter how tall of short you are, or how much you weigh , my brother is 6'4" and over 200 lbs and he rides his around all the time.
