This is a very nice old SWISS Officer's Sword. I do not know how old, but it certainly appears 19 th century. Anyone who knows these swords please feel free to contact me. The sword is 40" long with a 33 1/4" blade that is marked " MOHR & SPEYER" on one ricasso. I think this is the earlier Speyer partnership . Please email me if I am wrong. The blade is in good condition with the usual polishing over the past years. Double etched with foliage and the Swiss cross. The handle is wrapped in ray skin with a triple wire wrap. A ½ inch strip across the top of the wood grip is missing to time. The grip has an ornate nickel plated metal back-strap and pommel. T is a very decorative, open, basket type guard that is in excellent condition. T is also a very nice sword hanger that came with the sword. The nickel plated scabbard has several noticeable dents to the front and almost none to the rear. T are also dings to the top edge of the scabbard. Scabbard has cross stamped on bottom fitting.I retain the right to cancel this auction for any reason. I guarantee my items to be as described.
