Sold at NO RESERVEThis is a Swiss silver pocket watch made by the company Astra, circa 1910The watch has a good balance however the mainspring is slipping. The watch will tick and keep time for a while but will require a new mainspring being fitted and then also a clean and service if you want to use this watch on a daily basis. The watch is sold “as is” with NO refunds or returns acceptedThe watch is repeating clearly however with a good chime. To hear and see a video of the watch chiming, please http://youtu.be/Ze5dgiEmcqA Movement – the light gilt ¾ plate movement has a lever escapement and a slide activated quarter repeater function with a SINGLE hammer chiming on the internal gongs. The movement is signed “Astra” # 10090 and is in 90% mint condition – some oil and marks on the steel winding wheels and light marks on the gildingCase – the movement comes in a silver open face case, which has a hinged inner, back and bezel. The inner cover is signed “Examined by Simpson Benzie, Makers to the King and Queen, Cowes”The case is also clearly marks .925The case has a smooth plain finish and is in 70% mint condition – the case is quite dirty and needs a good clean. On the back there are 3 scuffed areas plus dings, along the sides there are several bruises. However this is still a good substantial case.Dial – the white enamel dial has a full set of blue steel hands and is in 99% mint condition – light marks onlyThe watch has a mineral glassThe watch measures 52mm wide x 16mm deepThe watch is stem wound / pin set Check out my other items !
