Sword, marked "Gravter-A`Durion" on the scabbard. It is monogrammed PM with small letter engraving below the PM of "malhie". It is 39 1/4 inches long with the scabbard on and 35 1/8 inches long with the scabbard off. The handle is brass with the grip portion being of wound wire. On one side of the handle guard is an Eagle with one clawed foot on a large globe. The other side of the hand guard has a button release to raise or lower the guard so it is more comfortable with clothing. The steel blade is engraved about three (3) inches from the hand guard but I cannot make out all of the letters. It starts with "Cou---awse" I think. On the end of the shaft w it attaches to the handle are two (2) stamps, one appears to be the letter "B" with a crown, and the other is a large C with a small t inside. On the brass part that attaches to the handle are the roman numerals XXXV1. The blade is in fair condition with some small nicks on the blade edge and 3 small cracks in the brass hand guard. It has two (2) brass loops on the scabbard.
