* Rare *SYD MEAD ~ INNOVATIONS ~ Futuristic Car Design Pub. by US Steel Corporation, 1961; 97 pgs. Hardcover edition, measures 10.75” x 10.75”. Condition The book itself is in very nice, clean and solid condition. However, please note the following, as shown in close-up photo #2: The grooved area between the spine and the front/back boards has separated on both front and back sides. The spine laminate is still firmly attached, but the area between the spine and boards would require some restoration work to bring it back to original condition. Otherwise, the binding itself is nicely intact, and holding together very well. Description Simply entitled, Innovations , this book takes a daring look over the future horizon at a variety of ultra-advanced automotive and vehicle designs, from an early 1960’s perspective. Interspersed with the text are numerous full-color 2-page illustrations, from the legendary visionary futurist, Syd Mead.
