A collectible for either lovers of Syracuse China or fans of Hollywood 's golden age. Both even! Surely must be amongst the rarest of Syracuse patterns. Don't know when this china dates to. The Fox commissary was called "Café de Paris" going way back to at least the early 1930's and remained so until the studios closed in the 1970's. To complicate matters, the pattern is done in a charming, but timeless, Art Deco style. Consists of a four piece place setting - 8" plate, soup bowl, cup and saucer. Believed to be a complete setting - I don't think that t are any larger plates, or other pieces. T certainly weren't any to be had when the studio auctioned off its holdings. I think it holds true that the commissary menu leaned more towards snacks and sandwiches, rather than full dinners, so the need for full size dinner plates would probably have been negligible. Perhaps a Syracuse aficionado with knowledge of this pattern could set me straight on that and I would welcome such information. Terms: Money Order, Cashiers Check or PayPal. PayPal is preferred.
