You are admiring a spectacular specimen, a Syrinx aruanus (Linne, 1758) measuring a huge 490mm (19 1/4+")...outstanding color pattern & fantastic form is displayed on this large beauty...super proto, only the very tip is missing and normal healed growthline scars which are so common in a specimen this large. Probably the largest living marine gastropod and known as the Australian Trumpet shell and unparalleled in the rich orange color pattern and sweeping spiral lines. The Syrinx aruanus is limited to the northern shores of tropical Australia w it is/was used by primitive natives as not only a Trumpet but also a water baler for their boats. This beauty is going to be a tremendous addition to your collection but also is guranteed to look absolutely excellent no matter w you decide to display it...perfect for home or office. Thank you for visiting our store this evening and an excellent choice!!
