Thank you for shopping with us. SZ 7 Antique Victorian Patterned Rose Gold Wedding Band This is a rose gold Victorian patterned wedding band, which features a pattern that goes all the way around the ring. It is a period piece, NOT a modern reproduction, and is probably from 1880 - 1900. There are no marks. I carefully acid-tested it. The metal tests greater than 10K and less than 14K. Like most Victorian wedding bands, this ring is light in weight. NOTE: All gold jewelry, regardless of color, contains other metals added to pure gold to give it strength and other desireable properties. One of the other metals is copper. In formulas for yellow and white gold, the amount of copper is small enough that it does not impart its own color to the finished gold, but if the amount of copper is increased, a pink or rose tint results. Rose gold has been popular at various times in the history of jewelry, one of them being the Victorian era from about 1850 to 1905 when rose gold was extremely popular. Depending on the amount of copper in the gold mixture and what other metals are present, different tints are seen - from just a faint hint of pink to a very strong pink. The color of this band is a medium to strong pink gold. Any discolored areas in the pictures are reflections of nearby objects. In person, the color is even pink gold. Inv read more
