Very old F. FENNY TALLY HO straight razor. Blade has been cleaned and polished. There is still some scratches and pitting on the blade, I have sanded and polished out as much as I could. The blade is SHEFFIELD MADE mid/latter 19th century. F. Fenney made razors from 1824-1852, blades were then stamped C.T Bingham /Late F. Fenney, then just C.T. Bingham). I believe Bingham took over after Fenney's death and transitioned the names on the blades. That would make this blade a mid to late 1800's blade IMO. If someone has a better understanding of the history, please let me know. SEE PHOTOS! This is one tought full, and I mean full wedge. I used three pieces of tape on the spine to hone this blade and the bevel is still very wide. The profile of this blade is almost a perfect triangle. Gorgeous new scales are made from AFRICAN BLACKWOOD and finished with buffed wax coating. This wood is very oily, heavy and dense and resistant to moisture. Wedge is made from BUFFALO HORN. Pins are stacked brass - faux bullseye. Blade measures a hair over 6/8ths at tip of blade. Measures 11/16ths at heel, so I would call this a 6/8ths blade. Blade grind is a full wedge. Razor measures 6 inches closed and 9 3/8 inches open. Blade stamp reads - C.T. BINGHAM - SHEFFIELD - TALLY HO - WARRANTED Back side is blank. Blade has been honed and is SHAVE READY! Please read more
