Wonderful Box Up for sale is a beautiful peice of vintage porcelain. This dresser or candy box was made by Tresserman and Vogt(T&V) of Limoges, France. This mark indicates the item was made between 1892-1907. This peice is dated 1906. It is an absolutely gorgeous box. I was very tempted to keep it. The lid is superbly decorated with an exeptional handpainted scene featuring an elk overlooking a tranquil lake. The ground, forest, sky, and everything are finely detailed with great color. The rim of lid and base are heavily trimmed with gold. The body in general is a soft baby blue. The bottom bears the "T&V-Limoges France" mark as well as a birthday wish: "Happy Birthday To Angie- Sr. M.Eulalia" or so I think it reads. It it also written towards the bottom: "Oct. 18, 1906". The box measures approximately 8 inches wide and 3 1/2 inches high. It is in great condition, having no chips or cracks. T is minor crazing on the bottom. T are only two flaws to speak of, both on the inner rim of lid, one a manufacturing flaw: 1.T is a tiny chip on the inner rim of lid which was done during manufacturing. It is trimmed over in gold and can hardly be seen. 2.T is a series on two small hairlines, actually on the inside(inner rim) of lid. They are very discrete, only visible when looking directly up into the lid. They aren't even damage, just cosmetic. read more
