Very rare Thomas Walker Cherub Mark II ships taffrail log in old beat-up case(could be restored-all t except top).Includes log head with two way swiveling mounting bracket,intermediatebrass weight and large-14" long four finned brass torpedo,oOne fin is marked Lionel Corporation new York NY.Lionel was another early taffrail log manfacturer-not found as often as walker logs The glass coverfor the the dial is broken.The bezel for the glass is present.The two hands are rusty,but the large one turns with rather light pressure.I did not try to tun the small hand,The shaft that the torpedo hooks to turn relutantly with modrate pressure.the entire piece obviously needs cleaning,oiling and polishing,and then it would be beautiful,especially if you restorded the case to display it in,T is abrass band affixed to the top of the barrel directly behind the log head,that reads"wWalkers cherub ships log Mark II"with an anchor stamped in the muddle of the band. I am not an expert or especially knowledgeable agout taffrail logs,but I have attempted to describe it accurately with all of it's faults. I would welcome comment or corrections to any mistakes I have made from anyone out t who knows more about these items than i do.
