Well rendered table top still life. Painting is an oil on canvas panel. Measures 16 x 20"; unframed. Painting is in excellent condition. Signed LR "Ruth Heffelfinger; estimate age to be mid-century or so. Following is Miss Heffelfinger's obituary. Ruth ( Buffy ) Heffelfinger Delaney was born in Minneapolis on July 8, 1935 to parents George Heffelfinger and Ruth Jones Heffelfinger. She is survived by husband David Joseph Delaney; brothers George and Totton Heffelfinger and sister Louise Heffelfinger; children Lucia Delaney, Louise Wahl, David Delaney Jr. and Deborah Christakos; sons-in-law Mark Wittig and John Christakos, and daughter-in-law Francine Delaney. Buffy spent time growing up at her father's fishing cabin in Minaki, Ontario, and at her grandparents' estate, Highcroft, in Wayzata, which was very dear to her. She attended Northrop School in Minneapolis, Westover School in CT, Vassar College in NY, and art school in San Francisco. Buffy married David Joseph Delaney in Wayzata in 1961, and raised four children on Lake Minnetonka, in Excelsior. The family enjoyed spending time together on ski vacations, golfing in Sea Island, GA and at the Delaney's home in John's Island, FL.
