Merritt's P-53 movement along with all accessories in the P-54 package except weights. This movement has never been used. Merritt's catalog description of the movement is as follows:

Heavy cut gears Plate size: 5" wide x 6 1/2" high x 3/64" thick Min. case depth: 7" Pendulum swing: 10" Pendulum Drop: 45 43/64" from the centershaft to the bottom of the rating assembly" __________________________________________________ In 100 years this movement will be ticking in someone's home while those German movements that clock companies use have long since been sold for scrap. Personally I think that if you want to build an American tall case clock you should put an American movement in it. I was going to make a brass dial clock so I had a brass calendar wheel made, included in this sale. If you want to use a painted dial this of course can be painted instead of engraved. So what you will get is a never-used American-made 8 day bell strike movement with pulleys, cable (about 25'), bell and bell stand, pendulum, seat hooks, winding crank, and calendar wheel. Merritt's price, without the date wheel, is a bit over $750. (The P-54 package price is $818, which includes the $65 weights.) If you're thinking of building a tall case clock 's a chance to save some money. I have both a brass bell and an iron one, and a brass-faced pendulum bob and an iron one; the buyer will get a choice of each. To avoid a possible oversize package surcharge I will ship the pendulum rod in a separate box from the movement and other small parts.
