A BRAND NEW BEAUTIFUL HANDTURNED TAMARIND PARKER STYLE FOUNTAIN PEN This beautiful pen is a custom hand turned TAMARIND WOOD PEN by "Shepard’s Points" Native to tropical Africa, the tree grows wild throughout the Sudan The tamarind, is a slow-growing, long-lived, massive tree and reaches, under favorable conditions, a height of 80 or even 100 ft The sapwood of the tamarind tree is pale-yellow. The heartwood is rather small, dark purplish-brown, very hard, heavy, strong, durable. It bends well and takes a good polish and, while hard to work, it is highly prized for furniture, sides of boats, knife and tool handles. The wood that is used in making this pen has beautiful black stripes in the wood that make it a definite and rare one of a kind beauty! Tamarind is a very beautiful and unique wood.
