This auction is for a collection of Japanese sword polishing powders, including Jitekkou/Jittekou, Tsunokou, uchiko and a small bag of Oumewata, as well as nuguigami, choji oil, and a small box. Whether you want to maintain your katana correctly or carry out light polishing after tameshigiri this is the kit for you.Very usefull after tameshgiri practice as the chemicals from the mats can stain the blade!1 Jitekko Japanese sword polishing powder is a magnetite powder which is mixed with Chiji oil(subakiyo) to make Sashikomi mix or nugui. This is applied to the blade with special cotton wool and moved up and down the surface for final polishing. This bridges the gap between stones and uchiko. In technical terms for those who do not do hadorri. If you have ever used stones on your katana as an amateur and not been impressed with the results-then used uchiko and found that it makes no difference then this substance might help you. I am no polishing expert-but used the mix the other day to remove some marks from my Paul chen blade after demonstrating Tameshigiri and it worked perfectly-where uchiko had failed(sometimes when you cut soaked, rolled straw the chemical preservatives from the straw stain the steel blades!). An alternate use/method is to filter the jitekou powder through nuguigami to directly polish the blade without nugui. read more
