This is a comercial tanned Corsican Ram Cape. It is average sized with a nice mane. The mane is about 8" long at the deepest part, and the whole cape has good color and good hair. There are some skinning cuts but all are easy repairs and the long hair will cover even poor sewing. There is a small cut on the side of the snout which shows in the pictures. This is also easy to repair but will take a bit more time to avoid it being seen but certainly no problem for the average taxidermist. Cape is from an animal with the horns very close together at the bases- narrow strip of skin there. It is useable with horns having larger space by adding a little skin taken from rear area of leg and/or rebuilding horn bosses- normal practice. I bought this cape as you see it planning to mount a ram for my shop. I never seem to get caught up enough to do the job and my shop is pretty full of mounts now anyway so I've decided to let this sheep go. I do not have exact measurements- I would rehydrate and then measure but I would guess it to be about a 14" neck size ( dry it measures 11").I guarantee everything I sell for 14 days but for this cape I'll guarantee it for 30 days to be mountable and as advertised. This gives you extra time to be certain you can use the cape--now that's pretty fair. I do not know where the cape was tanned but it has a good clean smell and the leather is soft and well done. This cape is being offered out of Fox-fire Taxidermy in NC. No reserve auction starting cheap!! Buyer pays $10.00 shipping to any US address by Priority Mail. Sorry, I do not ship outside of the US. Questions??? Please ask.
