SCHIAPARELLI DEMI-PARURE This breathtaking SCHIAPARELLI Demi-Parure is an English estate find and is unusual in size as well as design! Set in high quality gold metal, with Aurora Borealis Crystal stones and perfectly matched lead Crystal beads that were probably custom made for Schiaparelli.The quality of the stones in this piece are exceptional! They are an exquisite mixture of prong set marquis with a gold mirrored finish and green Aurora Borealis Crystals-the larger ones prong set. Each piece in the Demi-Parure features a huge center placket, with a free swinging swag of lead crystal bead suspended from the ends, with finishes that exactly match the Crystals. The pieces were obviously hand assembled rather than made by machine! The majestic brooch is nearly 3 inches long. The modulated plaquette with 3 layers of design elements gives this brooch an impressive 3/4 inch profile and combined with the slightly domed design means the brooch is not flat, but three dimensional. The design guarantees the stones will sparkle from any angle, maximizing the impact of this gorgeous piece. As if that weren't enough, t are also 2 dangling lead crystal beads that flank the swag of crystal beads in the center. The clip earrings are also slightly domed & constructed in layers allowing these sparklers to cup the ear lobe while presenting a canvas that reflects light from both the front & side. These wonders of design are 2 inches long. The superior workmanship is apparent even on the backs of the pieces, which are beautifully finished in a smooth, substantial gold metal, so they may be gold plated. The brooch is signed "SCHIAPARELLI" in a curved, oval cartouche and BOTH earrings are signed "SCHIAPARELLI" on the clips. You'll find no dark or cloudy stones ! The Crystals are big, bright and extra sparkly and their quality holds up, even under magnification, although t's a tiny bit of wear on the mirror finish along the edges of a few of the marquis Crystals. The only wear on the metal is in the center of the curved clips of the earrings, w they would naturally rest against the neck.This dramatic Demi-Parure is sure to lend panache to any outfit!
