This listing is for a single one troy ounce ingot of tantalum. Tantalum has a high melting point and strength, good ductility, is corrosion resistant, and is highly conductive of electricity and heat. These properties make it useful in the production of capacitors and other electronic components and its super-alloys are used in the aerospace, nuclear, and medical industries. Approximately 60% of worldwide tantalum production comes from South America and Australia. Worldwide production in 2012 was only 765 tonnes of tantalum, compared with about 2700 tonnes of gold. Please see the below links for more information.Inscribed on our ingots are the chemical symbol (Ta), purity (99.95%), weight (one troy ounce), and a serial number (this number is unique and will vary). On the reverse is our logo. These ingots are not well polished and are not as well polished as the single one pictured. Each ingot will be shipped with an assay certificate and with a velvet bag for storage. If multiples are purchased, one velvet bag will be included for every two ingots purchased.
