TARZAN #10 (1949) GOLDEN AGE DESCRIPTION : TARZAN #10 (DELL COMIC, 1949) VERY FINE- CONDITION (7.5). This Golden Age copy was published almost 60 years ago and features one of the earliest issues of Tarzan ever published. Issue #1 was published in 1948. Dell's run of Tarzan was probably the truest to Edgar Rice Burroughs' original vision of the character. A white baby, raised by apes, Tarzan eventually became the jungle's lord and protector. In this vintage series, he had not yet met future love interest Jane, although he did have a kid sidekick, simply called "Boy." Cover has spine stress lines, edge chipping, and the letters "OK" next to the macaws. Front and rear cover art are classics and striking with that unique Golden Age appearance. Interior pages are in excellent condition, white, solid and tight. Great art, vintage stories, "Boy" appearance, and one of the beginning issues of the first Tarzan series add to the collectibility of this Golden Age treasure and collector's gem.
