's a real nice coffee urn with a base, marked; " 950 taunton silver plate co triple plate ". the urn and the base are marked. the urn sitting on the base is as high as 18.5" (tip of the lid finial). it has been very well preserved. the previous owner must have tried to polish it; t are still some whitish residue inside the urn and in the ornate areas, probably from the cleaning paste. the item shines like a mirror but has a light black tarnish all over. i have cleaned a small area on the lid and it cleans up very well. i am confident it could be polished back to a very nice silver tone. at the bottom of the base is a cow finial (refer to pictures). the cow is small, may be 1" long and sits in between the 4 legs of the base. the faucet's spigot works ( the T top part is made of wood). i have put a little water in the urn and it holds and releases water fine. the urn i believe can hold close to 2 quarts of liquid (more or less). t is a some loss of silver tone on the faucet (copper/brass tone color showing through). i see no missing or broken parts. the item is i believe very old; overall i say the item is in excellent vintage condition. but it is NOT perfect. t are probably some dings and scratches t and t but nothing really unpleasing to the eye (no major abuse). but this is just my opinion so please if pictures are not enough please read more
