MATL DESIGN, Really Huge Mexican Turquoise, Coral and Amethyst Silver Pendant Cross. Amazing, Fully Marked, Vintage. This cross was made in Taxco . It was crafted in the Mexican workshops which are known for its great quality in the manufacture of this kind of jewelry. The designs were inspired in the ones made by Matl. It has a rich cultural background like that of the Mexican traditions. It is known that the silver of Taxco is internationally recognized for its purity and extraordinary artistic qualities. In all the workshops, silversmith was almost entirely done by hand. This is an amazing cross based on the designs of Matl, it is worked with applied wire, pierced parts and embossing. This piece has seventy turquoise beads, twenty six coral beads, four pyramidal amethysts and seven squared carved amethysts in its composition. It also has the authorâe(tm)s initials: âeoeLELâe. On the middle of it has a squared amethyst which is surrounded by torched wire and by eight coral beads, eight turquoise beads inlaid in silver and four silver beads and four pieces of torched wire. On the arms, this piece has symmetrically disposed the rest of the beads. On the three upper arms it has one pyramidal and one squared amethyst surrounding the central piece.
