California Tile Collectors... I am pleased to offer for auction this incredible looking vintage TAYLOR TILERY ( Santa Monica, California) Tile Table. The tiles have been identified on the website Caltiles in the Taylor Tilery section. It's a stunning table made circa 1920 - 1930 by one of California's best tile companies. Has an OCTAGONAL shaped top. Everything is original down to the screws and nails. The top is CERUSE OAK and the base is probably oak but I'm not sure. Condition of the tiles is excellent. No breaks or cracks. The colors are still vibrant and look amazing. The oak top has one section that has a split w the wood pieces come together but it's not a break. Base is very good with some normal loss of finish and some normal wear. It's sturdy and strong but has just a little wiggle. This is a good sized table. Measures 25" across at its corners x 19" tall. Base measures 24" across. The actual tiles measures 16.5" across. Weighs 24 lbs. unboxed. Displays beautifully! A perfect addition to a California Tile / Table collection. DUE TO ITS SIZE AND DELICATE NATURE I WOULD PREFER TO SHIP BY GREYHOUND BUS. IT WILL HAVE TO BE PICKED UP AT THE STAION. I THINK IT'S SAFER FOR THE TABLE TO TAKE A BUS RIDE RATHER THAN TO GO THROUGH CONVEYER BELTS WHICH FEDEX AND UPS USE. MY PACKING ABILITIES ARE EXCELLENT BUT THAT'S WHAT I WOULD PREFER UNLESS THE BUYER REALLY WANTS FEDEX. CAN ALSO BE PICKED UP IN LOS ANGELES. CALIF. RESIDENTS TO PAY 8 1/4% SALES TAX. CONDITION NOTE...In my rush to list the table I missed a flaw on one tile piece. It's a surface chip that measures 1/4" across. It looks much bigger in the pictures from my camera angle.
