Rare, circa 1860, seven piece American coin silver tea service in original fitted mahogany travel case, made by T. O. Garrett & Co, Philadelphia. Superb floral and leaf repousse decoration with central cartouches in scroll and shell design with Greek key border on top, set consists of a coffee pot, 12''H x 6 1/2''DIA, two tea pots, 10 1/2''H x 6''D, open sugar, 6''H x 6''DIA, creamer, 9''H x 4 1/2''DIA, covered sugar, 8''H x 5 1/2''DIA and a spoon, 5''L. Pieces are monogrammed ABS for Anna B. Shumway of Philadelphia. Total weight 159 ozt, fine original condition. From a Sedgwick, Maine home.
