If anything about our transaction does not meet your expectations, please let me know, and I will do my best to make things right! ***** Teac A-6300 Auto-Reverse 3 Motor 4 Head Stereo Tape Deck Condition This deck is in excellent cosmetic condition and is in flawless operating condition. For over 35 years I have been a service technician with most of my experience in vintage audio. When you buy a reel-to-reel deck that is listed as in good working condition but has not been restored as this one has, it will require servicing to get it back in mint working condition as this deck is in. No reel-to-reel deck can go over 30 years without servicing. I don’t just replace the worn out belts and clean up, I do a complete restore of the entire deck. This involves a great deal of disassembly, cleaning, lubricating, and testing. If during the testing I find the deck does not perform, as it should, I then check out the circuits to see what is causing the deck to not perform as it should and change any defective or week components. There is more involved in the replacement of the belts than simply taking off the old belts and putting on new ones. If the old belt residue is not completely cleaned from the pulleys the new belts will not last long. The petroleum grease used back when these decks were manufactured had a tendency to dry up causing moving parts to stop moving freely. To service one of these decks correctly, the old grease must be cleaned out and new grease used to re-lubricate. The new synthetic grease that is now available will last a lifetime. Besides re-greasing, the capstan motor has oil fill tubes at the front and rear that need to be periodically oiled. Many of the decks found today have not been oiled for over 30 years and some that have been, have not been oiled with the proper type of oil. The oil I use is heavy synthetic motor and gear oil that will protect much better than the oil that was originally used. This decks heads show very low wear, and have been thoroughly cleaned and demagnetized plus checked for proper alignment with a test tape. See photo. All switches and controls have been cleaned and are working smoothly with no noise. I will pack with extreme care to insure it will arrive completely undamaged! Every function has been tested and is working perfectly. The sound quality is outstanding! This was Teac’s premiere auto-reverse reel-to-reel, and it is in excellent working condition! The A-6300 is truly an amazing deck capable of making near studio quality recordings. Just look at the specs! Most every day, I spend working on and with reel-to-reel tape decks. Teac has been a leader in audio recording for over 55-years now, and with decks like this it is easy to see why. They were known for their super reliability and also for having high quality beautiful looking equipment. This is a 2-channel 4-track record/playback deck with auto-reverse playback. Features : ”Quick-Loc” Reel Holders : Provide secure mounting for reels on the reel table platform. Three Motor Operation : With three motors there are no idlers to wear out, and tape drive is steady and strong. Auto-Reverse : Allows one to playback both sides of a stereo recording without having to remove the reels. Line/Mic Mixing : Allows one to record from a line source like another tape deck while adding a microphones to the recording. This is great for making a recording announcing the next piece being played. Tape/Source Switch : During record one can compare the input to the tape as it is being recorded. This is helpful in setting optimum record levels. Duel Inputs & Outputs : This allows for a great deal of convenience. One can loop one of the sets of outputs to one of the sets of inputs for easy sound on sound and sound with sound recordings.
