This auction is for a vintage 1953 Pinup Calendar by Ted Withers , with the Artist Sketch Pad logo on the cover. "An Artist's dream brought to life! Skeptics may scoff, but 's how it happened. Deep in the routine of illustrating a dozen different ads for as many different industries, Ted Withers of Hollywood, an outstanding and talented artist, was working long, hard hours in his studio. After a particularly tedious day struggling with sketches of wheels, gears, nuts and bolts, he fell into his bed that night exhausted. Then his subconscious mind went to work. He dreamed he was painting those ads the way he would REALLY like to do them. When he woke up next morning he seized his pad and brushes and sketched every one the way he dreamed of it - while every detail was fresh in his mind.
