Teisco Del Rey, E-120, 1965/66. (With Teisco headstock badge) Americaunfortunately didn’t see a lot of these great looking striped aluminum scratch plate guitars when they were first produced. Cheap at the time,(some sold for as little as $99.98 in department stores and catalogs), their value as solidly built surf and garage axes was immediately realized, thus explaining the poor condition of so many of them – it’s great to find one in such good shape as this nice single pickup E-120. These cool little small-bodied guitars feature a cunningly designed combination trapeze tailpiece/adjustable bridge, plus one pole-adjustable single-coil pickup, (of the type made famous by Ry Cooder), the at-the-time unique 4+2 tuner arrangement, plus the completely unique fretboard side markers. The side-marker material runs the full length of the board, doubling as full fretboard binding! All original, this tuneful time-machine is ready to plug in and rip! This is by no means a perfect guitar. It has small nicks and scratches as seen in the pictures. If read more
