Telescope-18 th or Early 19 th Century A small theater “prospecting” glass, made from turned Ivory, brass and glass with gilt finishing. Measuring 3 ¼” long at full draw, 2 ¼” closed, with an objective diameter of ¾”. The optics are very sharp and the single draw pulls out nice and smoothly. In excellent condition noting two age cracks that are gapless. These small telescopes were used mainly in the English and French theaters, traveling in the pocket or purse of both men and women. A fine example and still useful, giving a power of 2.5 X. Buyer Overseas $18. Note: This instrument is an Antique made from less than 10% Ivory by weight and is over 150 years old. No Reserve
