-------- Z-Scale -------- More excellent Z-scale items today ! Have you see these? It's the first locomotive release from a new Z-Scale supplier, Tenshodo of Japan. The name may sound familiar -- Tenshodo is the name of a famous supplier who produced high-end HO and N-scale model railroad locomotives from Japan for many decades. Now the name is extended to Z-scale with a brand-new line of equipment made in China. This is their first (and very nice) locomotive, a Japanese semi-shrouded D51 2-8-2 steam loco. It has beautifully made working valve gear -- one of the first in Z-scale -- as well as excellent details and smooth performance. This example is brand-new. I accidentally pre-ordered two of them by mistake, so I give you this virgin one. I unpacked it just to make sure it works, which of course it does. I ran it about 6 feet in each direction and then re-packed it back in its original plastic. So it is truly new. Note the little number plates of course have not been applied yet; they're sealed int he box, so you'll see holes for them under the cab windows and on the ends. It runs great, but since it's a new design for many of you I'll note three things: 1) It has a more rigid wheelbase than a comparable Marklin locomotive, so it does not handle quite as tight a curve as Marklins do.
