Dates approximately 1830/1850. FULLY LOCKS No missing or replaced veneer. One small bruise to the rear bottom right edge which is nothing. This really is a terrific rare box. Brass inlaid around the edge with boxwood and ebony stringing to the centre all complete with out loss. The solid brass central cartouche is initialled which is difficult to make out. It could be 'CT' or RT'. Further inlaid with solid brass to the keyhole escutcheon. THIS REALLY IS IN WONDERFUL CONDITION, considering the boxes age. The front loading draw is accesses via the push bottom in-between the hinges. Opens and closes flush and square. I’M PRETTY SURE THAT YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. Box retains the original lock; top catch and hinges. Supplied with a silk tassel and Victorian key that FULLY LOCKS, with ease. Instruction given once sold. YOU ONLY GET THIS TYPE OF QUALITY FROM US.
