You're bidding on a great-looking three-piece set of Kay Denning enameled jewelry - necklace, bracelet and earrings. Condition is excellent; clasps and screw backs work, and the enamel is intact, the colors vivid.Bracelet measures 7 inches long (including clasp) by a little over 1 inch wide; necklace is 16 inches long (including clasp) by 3/4 inch wide. The earrings measure nearly an inch square. The enamel is crisp and autumn-like: browns, reds, yellow, gold on a black background. The backs are white enamel, with 'Denning' hand written on the back of the bracelet and the necklace. The earrings are unmarked. The enamel looks to be on copper; the links are a yellow metal. This set looks just beautiful when worn, and would make a stunning gift. About Kay Denning: She worked in New York during the 1950s through the 1970s, producing both jewelry and fine art, all enamel on metal. Her jewelry was sold in department stores, but it was all handmade, one-of-a-kind pieces. One of her large murals hangs in the gallery of the Rochester Institute of Technology. I've been told that most of her jewelry was made earlier in her career. T is very little known about her; hopefully the growing popularity of her jewelry will inspire more research.
