TESLA Talisman 308U Very attractive little Art Deco - Streamline style tube radio, TESLA Talisman, Model 308U. The European answer to the famous Fada 1000 'bullet' radio, with its streamlined case and elegant Art Deco styling. Based on an elegant 4-tube design first developed by Philips, the origins of these radios started out in the Philips factories in Czechoslovakia in 1946. When the Philips factories were nationised in 1947 they became part of the Tesla company, Tesla continueing to use the 4-tube concept in various sets until the end of production in 1958, with the 308U model being the most well-known. Condition Burgundy red bakelite case is in absolutely splendid condition. No cracks or chips- see the detailed pictures . All knobs are there and are original. Original back panel. Serial number on the back panel matches the number on the chassis type plate. Glass dial in perfect condition with all station names intact.
