Texcoco Mexican Pottery Table Lamp Vintage Abstract Figural Mid Century ModernThis auction includes free shipping with FedEx Ground to the contiguous United States. I occasionally use USPS if it is cheaper.Lamp to top of socket: 17"Lamp to top of finial: 26.25"Weight (not including cord): 5 lbs. 9 oz.This lamp has been newly rewired with a 3-way socket and a cord with a polarized plug. The harp and harp rest are also new, but the finial is the original. The ceramic by itself is 12" high and 5.75" wide. It has the Texcoco Mexico stamp on the bottom. I was unable to find any other examples of this design. Most Texcoco pottery were closer in design to traditional Mexican pottery, with a few that had an Aztec or modernist influence. Based on the lamp parts it used to have, this piece is from the 50's or 60's, and features abstract figures all the way around, possibly a dance or children playing in the schoolyard. The pottery is in great shape with minor condition flaws. There were a lot of tiny white paint spots on the surface when I got it. I cleaned most of them off, but the ones in the figures are hard to get. The paint on the wood base has cracked over time. There is a dent in the metal neck piece._gsrx_vers_625 (GS 6.9.7 (625))
