Accepting Paypal Only....Up for auction: an old Thacher Calculating Instrument (a cylindrical slide rule) in collectable condition 4012 serial number 5846. I dont know the true age but it has been used a lot as you can see in the pics. So if someone knows the age by the serial number, I would be interested to know. The instuctions are almost all gone and a lot of numbers also are not legible (many of those that are illegible can be interpolated and some of the dark spots have numbers that can be read). This device can provide 5 digits of precision. It will calculate 5 digit multiplication, division, squares, square roots, cubes and cube roots. T are two different scales for computing square roots, thus solving square root of 10 vs. 1 problem. The inner cylinder rotates within the outer cylinder. The outer cylindar rotates also with just enough friction to keep the inner cylinder in place (or in simpler terms: it moves the way it was intended). The cylinder measures 20.5" not counting the handles all total with wood base measures 24". I took several pictures of the condition..so please have a good look before bidding as all my sales are final. Only what is shown in the pictures will be shipped (except for the table that it sits on :) ). Buyer pays shipping (I don't charge for handling) according to destination.
