DESCRIPTION Thacher's Calculating Instrument Keuffel & Esser 4012 in Case Patent 1881 #5770 For sale is the very nice calculating instrument shown. This is the ultimate piece for slide rule and calculator collectors. This is quite a large instrument and makes an impressive display. There are scales around the outside of the piece and the center cylinder rotates and slides for different calculations. This one is in excellent condition and may have been used for the B&O / C&O railroad as it came from a large collection of RR items from former Vice President of B&O during the 1920s. Says "Patented by Edwin Thacher C.E. Nov 1st 1881" on the cylinder. Really nice item, I hate to part with it. Thanks for looking and check out my other items! !
