Hello Beatles Fans! Up for auction is this amazing set of The Beatles Blow Up Dolls from 1966! These are just amazing. Over 40 years old and in great condition!!! The history behind them, mentioned in the included Beatlology Magazine from March/April 2000 is as follows: "In 1966 the widespread popularity of The Beatles' cartoon show made the cartoon images of The Beatles a very attractive and marketable product. Inflatable dolls based on these cartoon characters soon appeared. Two items stocked on pharmacy and grocery store shelves displayed ads for these dolls. These items (collectibles in their own right) were Lux Brand Soap Bars and cans of Nestles Quick Brand Chocolate and Strawberry Drink mixes... In order to receive a set of dolls, the purchaser was required to send in the completed coupon from the Box of Lux Soap, two wrappers from either Lux, Dove, or Lifebouy soaps, and $2.00. Alternatively you could have filled out the coupon from the back of the Nestles Quick can and sent it in with $1.50. After allowing four weeks for delivery, the recipient would receive a small brown paper mailer containing four uninflated vinyl dolls...Once inflated doll stood approximately 14-15 inches tall and had an inflatable instrument featuring a facsimile autograph of its character.
