Up for auction is "The Big Book of Buttons" by Elizabeth Hughes and Marion Lester. This 813 page book is called the "bible" for button collectors and has thousands of buttons, of every description, in both color and black and white. It measures 8 ½" by 11 ¼". Condition is very good with minimal damage, a small tear in the outside corner, the back page is somewhat loose (I used this book and so will you), and a bit loose on the binding. I found one mark in the book when I got it. My husband bought it for me for Christmas, but I no longer sell buttons. I cannot begin to tell you how much more money I made after I got this book! It is the best button book t is! T are a couple other books that come in handy too, but this is the ultimate button book to own, honest! It was very hard for my husband to find this book and he paid a lot for it. I have taken pictures of 3 pages from this wonderful book to give you just a taste of what you will see and the identification of the buttons is so informative. T are bone, horn, ceramic, enamels, rubber, ivoroids, celluloid's, plastics, velvet, every glass imaginable, watch crystal, Victorians, paperweights, Satsuma, steel, copper, silver, Indian silver, pewter, tombac, Jacksoians, Brass, gilt, tin, military, pearls, shells, wood, pine needle, lithographs, jeweled glass, drums, paste jewels, Gay Nineties, Waistcoat, advertisement, cinnabar, children, men, women, animals of all kinds, reptiles, opera, cuff buttons, sporting buttons, buckles, Kate Greenway, flowers, religious, Zodiac, and poppers etc. etc. The list goes on and on.
