Up for Auction The Comic Almanack The Comic Almanack. An Ephemeris in Jest and Earnest, containing Merry Tales, Humorous Poetry, Quips, and Oddities by Thackeray, Albert Smith, Gilbert A Beckett, the Brothers Mayhew. With Many Hundred Illustrations by George Cruikshank and Other Artists. Second Series, 1844-1853 Will Illustrations by George Cruikshank (famous for dickens illustrations very collectible) Chatto & WIndus Publisher 1903 This book is in excellent condition. The boards are a vibrant green blue with fresh and shiny gold gilt tiles and illustrations elaborately created on front board and spine. Boards also have embossed loop design on edges. One of Cruikshankâe(tm)s best ever. So elaborate full page plates (black and white) so not so politically correct with black people and female voting. T is no date but per my research and ads in the back of the book this book had to be published in 1903. This is not a reprint but an original! What condition! The boards have been protected over 100 years and are beautiful and shiny! Over 8 inches tall and over 2 inches thick. All boards and pages are attached. Beautiful blue green endpapers with owners stamp neatly placed on left front endapaper.Gorgeous fold out plates. I have taken many many pics but believe me t are even more in the book!
