The Dairy Milk Bottle Diner Number 01620 Lefton Roadside Delites Spectacular Vernacular Collection. Quote from the brochure - "The Dairy - in those pre-air conditioner days of yesteryear, The Dairy was the place to stop and cool off with a delicious ice cream delight." One of 10 legendary "Spectacular Vernaculars" in Lefton's Roadside U.S.A. series - Funky commercial architecture, often becoming a destination and a Photo opportunity. Copied from actual buildings - I have been able to place many of the unique one-of-a-kind diners, stores, and rest stops that are included in the set of 10 Spectacular Vernaculars. The huge Milk Bottle Diner is open in Milwaukee Wisconsin at the Milwaukee Zoo (Wisconsin - home to The Packers, Cheeseheads, lots of cows, and w drinking fountains are called Bubblers). The book "California Crazy and Beyond" also shows huge milk bottles used as entryways at The Polks Dairy ca 1921 in Indianapolis, the Asselin Creamery ca 1929 in Norway Indiana, and the Halifax Creamery ca 1933 in Daytona Florida - all pictured on page 120. The Dairy is NOS - new old stock, 1st quality, never displayed, perfect condition, packed in the original styrofoam and in the decorated box.
